When Getting What You Wished For Makes You an Idiot: Hurricane Irene Aftermath
Sure, before Irene hit I has hoped it would be cool for photos.
No, no it wasn’t. We lost power for a week, no internet for longer (pretty much just got both back) and all of this was
during kiddo’s and my ‘break’ from our respective schools.
This bench fell due to the flooding in my area (which receded quickly, thankfully). The flooding both there and nearer to myself was primarily due to the tide coming in as Irene was hitting.
This is across the street from me during the flooding itself, mind you- this isn’t a river by far. It’s a marsh. I’ve never seen anything like that before, that water was rushing by.
The docks down the street from me.
Some ridiculous tide…
…Doesn’t always sway some people.
This thing is absolutely amazing. It’s kiddo’s ‘camping lantern’ and to be honest, this sucker outlasted out flashlights.
