18 To Life: Hard Labor No Time Off For Good Behavior

They say that raising a child is the single greatest and hardest job ever.  At this very moment, it’s starting to feel like a life sentence to heavy labor.  I’m still making the attempt to function without sleep, and while it’s still (slowly) getting better, she’s still not sleeping all that great.  Considering that Kiddo has decided that 1am- 2:30 through 3 am  is officially party time, things aren’t pretty.

Although, soon I may not need to carry a purse as I’m pretty sure all my things will fit into the bags under my eyes.  So, there a silver lining.

Naturally the night before last I made an attempt to stay up until the party time, of course that there was the night she slept all the way through.  Last night?  I figured it was done- she of course woke up.

This kid is on to me, she knows.  While, sure at this moment that is a joke, there may indeed be some truth to it.  Time will tell.

At this point I’m tempted to start up a captains journal.  Just think of it:

Day 10:

There is still no sleep in the Cookie-Cutter household.  The drive is waning, and the troops are getting restless.  There’s talk of mutiny afoot.

Oh yeah, a few of those chronicling my eventual decent into either madness* or a coma will totally sell millions.
