For those out there who may read here with no kids.
There is a movement towards ‘gender neutral” clothing. Basically greens, yellows, white, and the like is all you dress your child in. If my memory serves at all correctly it’s essentially equality off the bat, or something like that. The description isn’t due to me taking issues with it, or anything of the sort.
Keep in mind, there may or may not (hint, it’s may) have also been a vendetta against the color of pink for some people (hint, it’s me). Shorty was usually dressed in the latest ‘gender neutral threads’ for a fairly good stretch of time. Yet, relatives don’t really like to hear someone give a list of things not to buy due to whatever reason*.
Now she has a closet that can rival mine, and it is incredibly obvious over which clothes picked up my momma, or family.
Admittedly there are some incredibly adorable clothing out there for kids, and I have found myself on more than one occasion being rather envious of a couple of kiddo’s duds (hey, they are just adorable!).
There is one thing though that really pushed me to thinking with pinks. I was sick and tired of telling people that she is indeed a girl. Admittedly the first hundred times was understandable, after a while though… It was just annoying.
*Also why kiddo has a metric ton of Dora things too.
**Image not really relevant, just funny.
